Pixel Buds Pro
In 2023, Google added spatial audio with head tracking to make the music sound like it’s coming from all around you. This made listening to music or making calls through the buds more immersive. Google also launched new colors and added controls to pause audio during conversations.
When paired with the Pixel 8 phone, Pixel Buds Pro can connect using “Super Wideband” Bluetooth. This makes your voice sound clearer during calls. Games on the Pixel 8 also have less lag time when using the buds.
Google updated the Pixel Buds app, so you can now change settings like noise cancellation from a Chromebook without needing an Android device. If you lose the charging case, Google has also started letting you buy a replacement case for $70.
Pixel Watch
The Pixel Watch will get important new health features in 2023. Fall detection can now sense if you fall and call for help. It also started tracking blood oxygen levels and setting high- and low-heart rate alerts. Workouts like running automatically pause when you stop.
With the Wear OS update, Pixel Watch users got backup and restore, watch transfers, and safety features. Notifications also show embedded media previews. The second-gen Pixel Watch added temperature and stress sensors for even better health tracking.
Google kept updating apps for the watch too. Maps have navigation without your phone. Gmail and calendar sync information. YouTube Music and Google Home also improved. By the end of 2023, Pixel Watch and Buds were set up for continued success.
