Create Your Own Assistant Shortcuts on Wear OS

Google has launched a new tile for Google Assistant that allows Wear OS users to create custom shortcuts. While the Google Assistant tile is available on Wear OS 3 and Wear OS 4 watches, the most useful feature is the ability to add custom shortcuts that can be accessed without audible voice commands.

The Assistant tile can now be customized with up to two quick actions that you can trigger with a simple tap. Google suggests some predefined options like setting alarms, sending messages, or controlling smart home devices. But you can also set fully customized shortcuts for just about anything.

The updated Assistant tile is rolling out now on watches like the Pixel Watch and Galaxy Watch. It appears to be available whether you’re on the latest Wear OS 4 or older Wear OS 3 software. Say goodbye to wake words and waiting—now you can get things done with your voice assistant through intuitive taps on your wrist.

With the ability to set shortcuts for common tasks or questions, the new Google Assistant tile brings powerful voice control that’s easier than ever to access. Customize it to your needs, and never be more than a swipe away from your go-to commands.
