New Ways to Quickly Access Safety Features on Your Pixel Watch

This week, Google updated the Personal Safety app with two Wear OS Tiles, in addition to the December 2023 Feature Drop. Using these shortcuts, you can quickly “Start” Emergency Sharing or Safety Check from your watch face. Instead of going into the app list, there is a big red or yellow pill-shaped button. Alternatively, you can place a shortcut to Personal Safety on your watch face.

The update adds convenient access to important safety features right from your Pixel Watch home screen. By adding tiles, you no longer need to open the app list to start an emergency share or safety check. Instead, large red and yellow buttons make it simple to activate these options with a quick swipe. You can also customize your watch face by adding a Personal Safety shortcut, so it’s always within one tap.

In addition to these new tiles, your Pixel Watch already has quick ways to call for help in an emergency. You can long-press the crown button to access Emergency SOS and emergency contact info. Google also introduced a watch band accessory with an explicit distress message for first responders.

The Personal Safety app update makes it easier than ever to swiftly activate sharing your live location with trusted contacts or checking in with them from your wrist. With these prominent tiles, help is just a swipe away if you ever feel unsafe. The customizable shortcut also gives you flexible access, no matter which watch face you choose. Google continues to improve Pixel Watch safety features to offer peace of mind throughout your day.
