A charging issue has been reported with the Pixel Watch 2. Reddit threads show that the new Google smartwatch simply refuses to charge for many users. When plugged into the charging dock, some Pixel Watch 2 owners report intermittent charging.
The problem is that some people’s Pixel Watch 2 will not charge at all when placed on the dock it comes with. Others say their watch only charges sometimes. Google knows about the issue too.
One person talked to Google support a lot about their watch not charging. Support said it was a problem they were already looking into. But Google never got back to that person with an answer. Even trying different chargers and power outlets did not work. Eventually, the person talked to support again and got a new Pixel Watch 2 to replace the one that wouldn’t charge.
Not everyone with a Pixel Watch 2 that won’t charge has been able to get a new one, though. Many people say they messaged Google about the problem but haven’t heard back.
Some things to check: Make sure the watch is seated correctly on the dock. The magnet should snap it into place. Also, make sure the charging pins on the back of the watch and dock are clean and not damaged.
If those things don’t help and your Pixel Watch 2 still won’t charge, you can contact Google support from your Google account page. It seems talking to Google Store support works better than the Watch support team.
