What Apps From Google Could Come to Apple’s Vision Pro Headset?

Apple revealed some cool apps coming to its new Vision Pro virtual reality headset. The headset uses “spatial computing” to make apps feel more like they’re in the real world. Apple said Disney+, Hulu, and other video apps will be on it for entertainment. For work, the big names were Microsoft 365 and Slack.

Google didn’t get a specific mention for its productivity and fun apps. But there are still some possibilities for what they could bring. Many Google apps like YouTube, Photos, and Drive already work well on iPads, so they may just run as-is on the headset too.

YouTube would be perfect for watching videos in VR. And the site already has 360-degree and VR content. Google Photos would let you view memories floating all around. Apple Photos will make panoramas wrap you in; Google could do something similar.

For work, Google’s G Suite apps like Docs, Sheets, and Slide could bring the full computer experience to the headset. Meeting up in Chat or Google MeetVR would be pretty neat too. And who wouldn’t want to explore places in 3D with Google Earth VR?!

The good news is that Google likes its apps to work the same on Android and iOS. So with some tweaks, they may transfer over. But Google also wants users in its ecosystem. So building apps specifically for the headset could be better than relying on what apps allow.

Only time will tell what apps Google brings. But with its experience in VR and popular services, it has a good shot at being on Apple’s fascinating new Vision Pro headset. Fingers crossed we get to enjoy our favorite Google apps in virtual reality soon!
