Google: YouTube Slowdowns Not Because of Ad Blocking

It has been confirmed by Google that the latest YouTube slowdowns are not related to the company’s fight against ad blockers.

Many YouTube users experienced lag and long loading times on the app and website recently. Some people thought it happened because they use ad blockers. However, Google has now said ad blocking is not the cause of the current slowdowns.

In a statement, Google explained the loading delay issues being reported have nothing to do with how YouTube detects and blocks ad blockers. They suggested trying some technical troubleshooting steps instead.

It’s still true that ad blockers can affect YouTube’s performance over time. But in this specific case, Google says the problem lies elsewhere. Reports show the slowdowns may be linked to updates made to popular ad-blocking tools like AdBlock and AdBlock Plus.

The developer of another ad blocker called uBlock Origin noticed the recent updates seemed to cause more issues. He said the slowdowns were a result of problems within the ad blockers, not YouTube deliberately trying to punish people who use them.

So in summary, while ad blocking can influence YouTube loads, Google has cleared the air stating this most recent round of lags was not due to its anti-ad blocking efforts. The issue may be resolved by waiting for ad blocker developers to release new updates.
