Netflix Prices Going Up Once More!

Netflix plans to raise prices for its streaming service again soon, according to a story in The Wall Street Journal newspaper. The price increase will probably happen a few months after the Hollywood actor’s strike ends. Experts think the strike could be over in the next few weeks.

The Wall Street Journal says Netflix will raise prices in several different countries, including the United States and Canada. Netflix did not say how much more the new prices would be. Last year, Netflix already made all their plans cost more each month. The basic plan is $15.49 per month, and the best plan is $19.99 per month. Netflix also started a cheaper plan that has ads for $6.99 per month.

Netflix is waiting until after the actor strikes to raise prices. It doesn’t make sense for them to charge more if new shows and movies aren’t being made yet. Once the actors and writers agree on a new contract, film and TV production can start again. Then Netflix will have fresh content to keep customers happy, even with higher subscription fees.

The writer’s union strike ended recently. Writers will now get more money from Netflix and other streaming services. The new contract is also good for writers because it lets them see how popular their shows and movies are on sites like Netflix. Though actors are still on strike now, their union may also settle soon.

In addition, the Wall Street Journal report says Disney+ might start a new option just for live sports in places besides the United States. Disney+ raised its prices before too, and rates will increase again later this month.

It looks like Netflix, Disney+, and other streaming services want to make more money. But they need new movies and TV shows to keep people paying those higher subscription costs. Once the actor strike concludes, that fresh content will finally be on the way!
