Sony recently said that their PS Remote Play app can now be used on Android TV devices. This lets you stream your PS5 games to your big-screen TV. However, some people were unsure how to get started.
If you have a Chromecast with Google TV, there is one app you need to download. Sony created a special version of their Remote Play app just for streaming to Google TV and Android TV.
Usually, you could use the normal PS Remote Play app on phones and tablets. But Sony made a separate version for televisions called “PS Remote Play for TV”. You can find it by searching the Google Play Store.
Once installed, it lets you connect your PS5 or PS4 console to your Chromecast when they are both on the same WiFi network. Then you can start playing games in your living room using a DualSense or DualShock 4 controller.
The app works best with a strong and fast 5 GHz connection. You need to sign into your PlayStation Network account too. Sony recommends putting your TV in “game mode” if it has low latency options.
Being able to stream PS5 games to a big screen is very convenient. This new app makes it simple to enjoy your PlayStation titles anywhere in the house on a Chromecast. Don’t be confused by multiple remote play apps; this is the one you need for Google TV streaming.
