Google Messages Wants Your Thoughts on New Features

Recently, Google Messages has rolled out quite a few new features, but they have not been publicly announced, and the team is seeking beta feedback. As a beta tester, you’re using a new version of Messages, and we’d like to hear your thoughts.

When you open the Messages app, there is now a message at the top asking for your feedback. It says “As a beta tester, you’re using a new version of Messages and we’d like to know what you think.” If you tap “Share feedback” it takes you to the feedback tool. You can also find it in the menu by tapping “Help & feedback” at the bottom.

The app wants to know what you think about the new features but doesn’t say which ones specifically. The biggest new thing is device pairing, which lets you connect your phone and computer without scanning a QR code. It would have been better if the feedback message appeared on that screen directly.

Google is also testing redesigned voice messages. Some people can now record voice messages with a new recorder screen, while others only see a different icon. Before that, Messages got a new home screen without the side menu. Other changes being tested include animated emojis, a shortcut to open the camera from the home screen, and a different way to choose conversations. But like most tests, not everyone sees these features yet.

If you’re helping test the latest version of Google Messages, the app wants your thoughts on the new updates. Take a minute to provide feedback so Google can make the app even better for all users. Your input could help shape future improvements to one of Google’s most popular messaging apps.
