Snapchat Helps Brands Connect with Customers Through Fun AR and AI

Snapchat announced some new tools at a big advertising event last week that will allow companies to create more realistic augmented reality (AR) experiences and reach customers in a personalized way.

The social media app has been working on making it easier for brands to let people “try on” products virtually using their cameras. Things like virtual makeup try-ons or trying on glasses are now quicker for companies to set up thanks to Snapchat improving its machine learning (AI) systems. Brands will be able to showcase much more of their products this way.

Snapchat also revealed brands can now easily generate face filters and lenses for advertisements using AI. Advertisers simply provide some text or an image, and the AI helps magic up a unique filter just for that company. These filter ads will pop up all over Snapchat.

Additionally, all types of Snapchat ads like picture ads or video ads will soon feature AR lenses and filters directly from the brands. Special sponsored content clips and in-app shows now allow AR enhancements too.

Over 300 million Snapchat users play with AR every day according to Snapchat. The new tools should help companies craft more interactive and entertaining experiences that keep their target audience engaged on the platform. It was announced amid Snapchat reporting more ad businesses and higher overall revenue. The goal is keeping engagement high as competition from TikTok heats up.

Snapchat’s cutting-edge AI and AR developments offer brands magical marketing mixtures to attract attention and tell their stories in novel ways. The tools synchronize simplicity with innovation to strengthen connections between companies and communities.
