Google’s NotebookLM is Now Available for All in the US

Back in May, Google said it was making a note-taking app called Project Tailwind that uses artificial intelligence (AI). A few months later, it changed the name to NotebookLM and let some people try it early. Now, Google has opened it up for everyone to use and made it even better with Gemini Pro.

NotebookLM lets you take notes and get quick answers from them. Unlike other chatbots, it only sees the notes you give it—not the whole internet. Google has rolled out some new features too.

  • Noteboard: Pin notes to the top space above the chat so they’re easy to see.
  • Save responses as notes: Keep answers from NotebookLM as notes for later.
  • Hide or show sources: You can collapse the source section. Also, focus on specific sources.
  • Jump to quotes: Click on citation numbers to refer to the original text.
  • Suggested actions: It will offer to summarize, combine, outline or make study guides from your notes.
  • More sources: You can now have up to 100 in your notes.
  • Source guides: Guides will show at the top of each source in the sidebar.

Google says these new features will come in the next few weeks. You can try NotebookLM yourself on their website. With enhanced tools and open access, NotebookLM looks to be a powerful AI study partner.
