Gemini App May Soon Let You Upload More File Types

Since the Gemini app launched, Google has worked to make it better and more capable. Recent discoveries indicate that the app could get a “Real-Time Responses” feature. There is, however, a possibility that you will be able to upload more than just images in the next improvement.

Developers found hidden options in the app that suggest file uploads are coming. Right now you can only share photos, but soon you may be able to upload PDFs and other documents too. This was triggered when selecting the “upload file” option in settings. Although it doesn’t work yet, it shows Google is developing this feature.

Imagine using Gemini to summarize long files instead of reading them yourself. You could have Gemini understand PDF papers or other types of uploads. It may even be able to convert them to other formats. This would make Gemini much more helpful.

While we don’t know when files will be supported, it’s exciting to see more options coming. Google may first restrict it to Workspace or premium versions though. As they continue improving Gemini, our digital companions will gain new superpowers!
