What Google Assistant with Bard Will Look Like on Your Phone

Google has been working hard on Google Bard, its primary response to ChatGPT. Bard will integrate deeply with Google Assistant on Android, although you can still use the classic Google Assistant. Although we are still waiting for Google to roll out Assistant with Bard to everyone, we now have a good look at what the Android version will look like.

Someone named Dylan Roussel shared pictures of what the Assistant with Bard app will look like on phones. The pictures give us a preview of how the app works and its different settings.

When you first open the app, it will tell you Bard can help with regular Assistant tasks too. It will also connect with other Google apps to be more helpful. Using Bard means allowing it to use your data to get smarter.

The app has a small popup window you can use easily. You can choose light or dark color themes. If you tap the right arrow, it expands into a full-screen chat. This distraction-free view is good for long conversations.

Bard will suggest things you can ask, but you can talk about anything by typing, speaking, or uploading photos. If you open Assistant with Bard over another app, you can add a screenshot for context. Then ask Bard how to do something related to what’s on your screen.

Your past conversations will be saved so you can reference old chats. There will also be “Extensions” to pull in outside information for tasks.

The pictures show settings for toggling between Assistant with Bard and regular Assistant. You can choose whether to keep classic Assistant features in Bard. Other options cover quick commands, screen context, and more.

We still need to wait for Google to release Assistant with Bard officially. The screenshots only show early development – the final app could look or work differently. But this gives us an idea of what to expect once it’s available on Android!
