Rabbit’s New Voice Controls, Thanks to ElevenLabs

As part of a partnership with ElevenLabs, Rabbit has developed voice commands for its devices. After receiving a lot of attention at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Rabbit will ship the first set of r1 devices next month. These new devices will have voice controls powered by ElevenLabs technology.

The r1 pocket assistant will listen to your voice commands when it ships. ElevenLabs helped make the device respond naturally like a friend. At first, only English commands will work. But ElevenLabs aims to make talking to the r1 feel very human-like.

“We want to help Rabbit create an AI helper you can rely on,” said ElevenLabs CEO Mati Staniszewski.

Back in January, Rabbit said it will use Perplexity AI to answer questions on the r1. Now with ElevenLabs, your r1 can understand what you say too.

Rabbit plans to ship the first r1 devices by the end of March. Owners will get to use the r1 right away to chat, get translations, order food and more – all using simple voice requests.

Jesse Lyu, Rabbit CEO, said around 100,000 people have already placed orders for the $199 r1. That’s a lot of interest!

ElevenLabs helps make movies, books and games more realistic by transforming text to lifelike voices. Their work with Rabbit continues this mission of improving human-tech interaction. The r1 is sure to be a handy pocket assistant thanks to companies like ElevenLabs behind the scenes.
