Samsung Quietly Launches Galaxy Tab A9 and Tab A9 Plus with 5G

When Samsung announces a new product, it usually makes a lot of noise. Galaxy S flagship devices and foldables are always launched at large-scale global events, and even other products like A-series phones and FE are given due attention. For reasons best known to Samsung, the Galaxy Tab A9 and Galaxy Tab A9 Plus were quietly launched over the weekend without a press release, despite being great budget Android tablets.

The Tab A9 and Tab A9 Plus went on sale in India without any announcement from Samsung. The Tab A9 comes with an 8.7-inch screen and 64GB storage starting at just $156. It has a MediaTek chip, 4GB RAM and a 5,100mAh battery. There is also a 5G model for $192.

The Tab A9 Plus has a bigger 11-inch screen with 128GB storage. It has a faster Qualcomm chip, more RAM at 8GB and the same sized battery. The 5G model of the Tab A9 Plus starts at $252 for 64GB storage. Both tablets have good rear and front cameras.

The listings did not give all the details clearly. It is unclear if the WiFi models support mobile connectivity like the 5G variants. Past leaks said the Tab A9 Plus would have a bigger 7,040mAh battery and 15W fast charging, which is better suited for its larger size.

With larger screens, good specs and 5G at affordable prices, these could be very popular budget tablets. However, Samsung launched them quietly without much information. Let’s hope the tablets have a global release and we get full specs soon!
