Samsung’s New SmartTag 2 Tracker Has Better Battery Life and Durability

Samsung first released tracker tags called SmartTags last year, and then the SmartTag Plus. Now they have a new tracker called SmartTag 2 that really improves on the originals.

The SmartTag 2 lasts a lot longer on a single battery charge. In normal mode, it can go for up to 500 days, which is 50% better than the first SmartTags. There is also a power-saving mode that stretches the battery life to an amazing 700 days.

This new tracker is also more durable. It is rated IP67 for water and dust resistance, so you don’t need to worry about it getting damaged by rain or sand. The first SmartTag Plus was only splash-resistant.

The SmartTag 2 has some cool new features too. There is a “lost mode” that allows you to add contact details like your phone number or email. Then if someone finds the lost item with the tag attached, they can scan it to see how to return it. This even works on phones that aren’t made by Samsung.

The “find my item” app called SmartThings Find has been improved. Your tags will also automatically connect to your new phone if you switch devices.

The SmartTag 2 costs $29.99 and will be available starting October 11th. It doesn’t support the “find my network” feature on newer Android phones, though, only Samsung phones. Overall, this is Samsung’s best tracker yet with a better battery, durability, and useful new features.
