Samsung has expanded its repair program, so you can now fix more of their phones on your own. Their latest folding phones, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, will join other Samsung devices that can be self-repaired. This includes the Galaxy S23, Galaxy Tab S9 tablets, and Galaxy Book 2 Pro laptops.
To repair the devices yourself, Samsung is working with the repair website iFixit. iFixit will provide the repair guides, parts, and tools needed to fix common issues. This allows you to replace broken screens, batteries, or other components without having to go to a repair shop.
The Flip 5 and Fold 5 additions aren’t listed on iFixit yet, but Samsung says they will be over the next month. Then you’ll be able to see the repair options and costs for fixing the folding phones yourself. Samsung is also adding some cheaper A-series phones, like the A05s, to the program.
In addition, Samsung is expanding its self-repair program to more countries. Repair services are now available in an additional 30 European countries, like Denmark, Greece, and Portugal. Customers in South Korea can also take part.
This helps Samsung cut down on electronic waste by empowering users to repair their devices when needed. It also means consumers have more choices than just replacing their phones if issues come up. Samsung is making technology repairs simpler and more accessible worldwide with its expanding self-repair services.
