Recently, Google released Gemini, its latest artificial intelligence model. Google says Gemini will help power many future updates to their services. When Samsung launched their new Galaxy S24 phones, Google announced something special. Gemini will be built into these phones! This will allow some apps on the Galaxy S24 to have super smart features driven by AI.
What Can Gemini Do On Galaxy S24?
Gemini comes in two versions – Gemini Pro and Gemini Nano. Gemini Pro will help with apps like Samsung Notes, Voice Recorder, and Keyboard. It lets Notes summarize and outline what you wrote. Voice Recorder can transcribe recordings and translate them too. The keyboard can translate messages as you type them.
Gemini Nano is smaller so it can run tasks directly on the phone without needing the internet. Google’s Messages app will use it for Chat Assist. This feature rewrites messages to sound nicer instead of rude.
The Gallery app uses another AI, called Imagen 2. It lets you edit photos with special effects just by describing what you want. But Imagen 2 doesn’t use Gemini – it has its own AI.
Will Other Phones Get Gemini Too?
Samsung is the first to add both Gemini Pro and Nano together. Google’s Pixel phones only started with Nano in December. Samsung is also testing future upgrades of Gemini with Google before anyone else. But the testing doesn’t involve the Galaxy S24 itself.
