Learn the Cool New Ways to Message with iOS 17

If you have an iPhone released in the last five years, you can install iOS 17 right now – and as usual, Apple has added new features and upgrades to its iOS apps.

In this post, we’ll show you what you can do now with iOS 17 in Messages. In addition to several new features, some existing ones have been reorganized and improved.

One really useful new feature is that your voice messages will now have words underneath them so you don’t need to listen! The phone listens to the message and types out what was said so you can read it.

Another cool new trick is called “Check In”. You can let a friend know when you are on your way somewhere or after a certain time has passed. If you don’t show up on time or check-in, your friend will get a message to check if you’re okay.

You can also search Messages better now. Before you could only search for one thing at a time, like a person or a word. Now you can combine things, like searching for photos from a certain friend that also mentions a keyword.

All the apps inside Messages like photos and music have been organized too. Now they are grouped under a plus button for easy access. You can also rearrange the order of the apps to put your most used ones at the top.

Another helpful update is that it’s easier to quickly reply to messages. Just swipe to the right on a message and hit send! Location sharing is improved as well – you can share your location with friends right inside Messages without leaving the app.

These are some of the best new features in Messages with iOS 17 that make messaging even more fun and convenient. Try them out and see which new tricks become part of your regular messaging routines!
