Meta Introduces New Features for WhatsApp Business Users

Meta (Facebook) is planning to introduce a WhatsApp verification process for businesses. At a virtual media briefing, embargoed until yesterday, Meta’s Vice President, Business Messaging, Nikila Srinivasan said the firm would soon begin allowing businesses to receive Meta verification, so users are sure they are talking to the right business. For businesses to become Meta verified, they must demonstrate authenticity in return for a verified badge, enhanced account support, and impersonation protection.

WhatsApp is available in over 180 countries and is used by billions of people daily. The verification process aims to help businesses interact better with their customers on the platform. Businesses that are Meta-verified will get a special badge on their profile. This lets people easily identify real businesses from impersonators.

Meta is also launching a new “Flows” feature for verified businesses. Flows allow businesses to provide full services to customers without them needing to leave the chat. Customers can find products, fill out order forms, and complete payments, all within WhatsApp. This makes customer service much more convenient.

Businesses can also create a custom page on WhatsApp. This page makes the business discoverable via web searches. It also allows multiple employees to respond to customers at once. Meta-verified businesses will get these extra features to engage customers easily.

The new verification process and Flows feature will help many small businesses connect with WhatsApp’s billions of users. It provides simple yet powerful tools for customer service and marketing. With these upgrades, WhatsApp aims to be the go-to platform for businesses to interact with their audiences.
