Earlier this week, WhatsApp announced it was rolling out HD photo support. As a result, users are now able to send higher-quality photos if they so desire. According to WhatsApp, high-definition video support will be available soon.
The good news is that WhatsApp has delivered on that promise! Starting today, the latest Android and iPhone WhatsApp apps allow you to send videos in high-definition quality.
Previously, all WhatsApp videos were limited to a lower 480p resolution. Now when you attach a video, WhatsApp will ask if you want to send it in the old 480p or the new 720p HD quality.
The best part is that your recipient has control too. They can choose to download and view the HD or standard definition version of the video you sent. This helps them control how much data is used.
Your HD videos will continue to be encrypted during sending just like regular WhatsApp messages. But now everything will look much sharper and clearer!
To get the new HD video feature, make sure you have the latest version of WhatsApp from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. If you don’t see the update yet, check back in a day or two.
Soon all WhatsApp users will be able to enjoy crystal-clear videos right within their chats. No more low-quality video calls – everything looks perfect!
