Apple Could Let You Arrange App Icons Any Way You Want On iPhone With iOS 18

As Android and iOS have traded features for a while now, Apple might borrow a feature from Android phones for iOS 18. We’ve heard Apple may let iPhone users place app icons wherever they want on their home screens, just like on Android phones.

Right now on iPhone, when you delete an app icon it gets filled in by another one. But Android phones since 2008 have always let you make blank spaces. We’ve heard that in iOS 18 you’ll be able to leave app icons wherever you put them, with empty spots in between.

This would make iPhone home screens much more customizable. You could organize your apps however you like, instead of them filling in a perfect grid pattern. It would give users more control over how their home screen looks.

Android Authority reported that their sources say this is coming in the iOS 18 update. They also said Apple may add other new home screen features too. Apple usually adds features that Android has had for a while. So this would be Apple finally catching up on home screen customization.

It should make iPhone users happy to get more options to personalize their home screens. We’ll have to wait for the actual iOS 18 update to see if Apple adds this helpful feature. It would be great for iPhone users if they could arrange apps freely like on Android phones.
