Google Wallet Not Working After Android 14 Beta Update

Google Wallet Not Working After Android 14 Beta Update

Lots of Pixel phone owners are upset because Google Wallet stopped working after they updated to the Android 14 beta test version. Google rushed out the beta test of Android 14, called QPR1, before the full version was ready. Now people who tried the test version on their Pixels have a big bug that breaks Google Wallet.

When people open Google Wallet, it pops up a message saying their phone doesn’t meet security rules to use the app. But this only happens to some phones, not all of them. The problem won’t let you add cards or pay with tap like you used to. It’s risky to try beta software because bugs can happen.

The good news is some figured out a way to maybe fix it temporarily by force closing the app and clearing its storage space. But that only worked for some, not everyone. Google knows about the bug already and is working on a permanent solution for the next update. If you use Google Wallet a lot, it’s best to wait to join the Android beta until they work it all out.

Google rolled out an early test of Android 14 before it was completely ready. Now Pixel users testing the beta version are facing troubles with Google Wallet not functioning correctly. While only affecting some devices, the security issue prevents both adding new payment cards and tapping to pay with existing ones. Fortunately, Google acknowledges the problem and engineers are focused on delivering a fix in the upcoming software update. Patience is key for beta testers heavily reliant on Google Wallet until the issue is fully resolved.
