Google Pixel 8 Leak Reveals Exciting AI Camera Upgrades

91Mobiles recently shared camera specifications and a new AI promotional video for the Pixel 8 smartphone, courtesy of leaker Kamila Wojciechowska. This leak provides us with an initial glimpse into how Google plans to incorporate additional AI capabilities into its flagship smartphones.

The leak shows off an expanded Magic Editor feature for the Pixel 8 phones. Magic Editor allows you to easily edit photos right in the Google Photos app. You’ll be able to combine multiple images into a single photo so that everyone is smiling in the same shot. The AI can also move subjects around, remove backgrounds, and change lighting and colors—all with a few simple taps.

New DSLR-style manual controls are also coming to the Pixel 8 camera. Users will have more flexibility to adjust shutter speed, ISO, focus, and more. This will please photography enthusiasts looking for advanced options.

Spec details show the Pixel 8 Pro getting upgraded 48MP wide and ultrawide lenses, plus a new 48MP telephoto camera. Both models also boost the ultrawide field of view. But the standard Pixel 8 keeps the same 12MP ultrawide as the 7 Pro.

The leak provides an exciting first glimpse at the powerful AI-enhanced photography abilities coming to the Pixel 8 phones. With an expanded Magic Editor and new manual modes, the Pixel cameras look set to offer both easy automatic shooting and advanced creative control. Stay tuned for future leaks as the Pixel 8 release date approaches later in 2023.
