A New App Could Give Voice to People with Speech Disabilities

Many phones now have lots of accessibility features. But what if you have speech disabilities? Google is testing an app called Project Relate. Another app called Whispp wants to help too.

Whispp showed their app at a big phone event. It can change your soft or hard to understand voice into a loud, clear voice that still sounds like you.

To use Whispp, first record your voice. You can make it louder or use a different voice. Making it louder just turns up the volume and blocks background noise. That file can be shared.

The cool part is Whispp can recreate your real voice if you have old recordings. It tries to keep how you talk and your accent. You can also record your healthy voice now in case you lose it later.

Someone trying Whispp said converting whispers to a loud voice sounded very natural. Not fake at all.

The only bad part is you need old recordings to recreate your voice. If you don’t have those, it won’t work.

Whispp also lets you call people using your new voice. It’s free to download, but calls cost $20 per month.

This app could be a game-changer for people who have trouble speaking. With luck, Whispp may give more people the ability to communicate easily.
