Google Chrome May Soon Allow Password Sharing With Family Members

As revealed by browser expert Leopeva64, Google Chrome is working on a new password-sharing feature. Currently, while Chrome lets you save passwords in the Google Password Manager, there is no way to share those saved passwords with other accounts.

But soon, Chrome users may be able to share login credentials with family members. Evidence shows Google is preparing to add a password-sharing option that is initially limited to members of your Google family group.

This means if you want to share passwords with other people using Chrome, you can add them to your family group. Up to 6 people can be added to a family group.

Once the feature goes live, users will see a new “share” button in the Password Manager. Clicking it will show the members of your Google family group that passwords can be shared with.

If no family group exists yet, it will prompt the user to create one in order to share login info. This limited sharing is aimed at making it easy to securely provide credentials to trusted family accounts.

The addition of password sharing could make Chrome more convenient for households that need to access the same online accounts from different devices. It remains to be seen when exactly Google will release this capability.
