While Samsung hasn’t shown off the Galaxy S24 yet, they hinted at a cool new feature it will have at CES 2024. Starting with their next top-of-the-line phone, you’ll be able to flip your camera between front and back. Best of all, the camera can double as a high-quality webcam for your computer.
This means no more struggling with low-quality webcam photos and videos. Just connect your S24 to easily join video calls, stream content, and more. AI features like background blur and auto-framing will also work. This helps keep you in frame and hides distractions behind you.
Samsung isn’t the first to offer this. Similar features exist on Google Pixel 8 and Android 14. But the S24 may be the first to get it Samsung phones. An earlier test of the feature in a One UI beta disappeared before launch. Now it seems Samsung has perfected it for their next flagship release.
While the S24 launch isn’t until January 17th, this gives us a glimpse at the cool new abilities it will bring. For now, we don’t know when older Samsung or Android devices may get webcam support too. But the future of the S24 as a do-it-all webcam looks very promising indeed.
