Yesterday, Samsung Australia accidentally announced the time and date of this year’s Unpacked event. Now, however, the date has been officially announced. We expect to see the Galaxy S24 series unveiled at this Galaxy Unpacked event. It has been confirmed that Unpacked will take place in San Jose, California, on January 17.
The big launch showcase will be livestreamed on Samsung’s website and YouTube channel starting at 1 PM Eastern Time. Samsung says we’ll get our first look at “the newest additions to the Galaxy mobile device portfolio.” That likely means the Galaxy S24 phones, but Samsung may also provide updates on other products too.
Rumors suggest we could hear more about Samsung’s plans for virtual and augmented reality headsets. The company partnered with Google and Qualcomm last year, so there may be developments to share. However, don’t expect an actual VR headset to launch at this event.
If you’re eager to try out the Galaxy S24 as soon as it’s available, Samsung is taking pre-orders already. Until January 16th, you can sign up on Samsung’s website or app to reserve one of the new phones. Reserving gets you $50 in Samsung credit, and you won’t be charged until pre-orders open up after the announcement.
