ChromeOS Getting Easier to Use with Latest Update

Over the next few days, Google will roll out ChromeOS 120 with a number of usability enhancements. This new version adds some helpful tools to make Chromebook users very happy.

One cool new feature is the Virtual Desk Button. This button lives on the shelf (the bar where your apps are) and makes it easy to switch between different “desks”. Desks allow you to organize your windows – so if you’re working on a few different projects, you can have them each on their own desk. The new button shows which desk you’re on and lets you flip between them in one click.

ChromeOS 120 also includes a handy new self-share feature for Nearby Share. Nearby Share lets you easily send files to nearby devices using Bluetooth and WiFi. The new self-share allows your Chromebook to accept files from your other devices, even when the screen is asleep. No more waiting for your computer to “wake up” just to receive a photo from your phone.

Additional updates give you more control over mouse and touchpad settings. You can adjust scroll speed and enable scroll acceleration. Controls have also been added for right clicking with touchpads.

The updates make it simpler to move around PiP windows too. Now just pinch them like on a phone instead of fiddling with drag and drop corners. PiP lets you pop out videos or other windows to float on top of other apps.

Google’s latest ChromeOS update ensures your Chromebook stays smooth and easy to navigate wherever you are. More features like these will continue expanding ChromeOS capabilities.
