Google Rolls Out New Shopping Features for Chrome

With holiday shopping in full swing, Google Search and Chrome are introducing new features to help people save money and find good deals. The upgrades make it easier to track prices and get discount codes.

When you visit store websites using Chrome on your desktop, you’ll see a “Shopping Insights” bar at the top. Clicking it opens a panel showing the price history for the last 3 months in a graph. It also says what prices usually are. You can turn on sale alerts too. All the items you check will be in a new “Shopping” folder.

Chrome’s new start page will have a section reminding you about products you looked at before on shopping sites. Plus, Chrome will highlight any coupon codes it finds on the page in an easy-to-spot green box at the top.

Google Search is also debuting a new “Deals” section when you search for sales. Search for “shop deals” or specific categories like “shoe deals.” It will show you the best offers organized by topic like electronics, toys, clothing and more. Major stores and brands will be featured from places all over.

In addition, Google shared its annual “Holiday 100” list of trending gift ideas. It’s broken into categories to give suggestions based on what others searched for most this year. With these upgrades, Google wants to help you find what you need this season without overspending.
