Apple Responds To iPhone 15s Overheating Complaints

According to Forbes, Apple has acknowledged user complaints about overheating on iPhone 15 and 15 Pro phones but denied speculation that it has anything to do with the hardware. A version 302 update to Instagram was already released on September 27th, addressing some of the issues.

Apple told Forbes that the problems causing some iPhones to get warmer than normal will be fixed in an upcoming iOS 17.1 update. They said it’s not the phone’s actual design that’s the issue. Instagram, Uber and the game Asphalt 9 have also sent out updates to help.

Apple thinks bugs in iOS 17 and how some apps use the phone’s power are to blame for the overheating iPhones. Things like using a USB-C charger above 20 watts or restarting the phone and app re-opening can make it warmer too.

After updating though, Apple said performance won’t be slower like some experts thought might happen. The company designed the iPhone 15 Pro with hardware like the powerful new A17 chip and titanium frame to handle graphics-intense games.

If you have an iPhone 15 or 15 Pro that’s feeling too warm, don’t worry – updates are coming to solve it. Make sure to update your phone and check app stores for fixes too. With iOS 17.1 and app updates, Apple believes iPhones will run at the cool and calm temperatures users expect.
