Could the Pixel 8 Help AI Finally Take Over Our Daily Tasks

One job most people would like AI to replace is their usual email-deleting routine. A lot of people receive emails overnight, and most of them are pretty useless clogging up the space between legitimate emails that need to be read and responded to.

I asked Google Assistant to delete all the non-important emails on my phone and it didn’t do anything. Google has many ideas for AI like having it write emails or plans for you. Sometimes these tools are handy but often give obvious answers.

Google also created Bard, an AI chatbot that can understand your emails and docs if you allow it. When asked, it found an important email for me quickly. Bard is getting better than when it launched.

Google will announce their new Pixel 8 phone soon. I hope it shows how their AI ideas could help us in daily life more. Right now their Assistant is fine but can’t combine info to suggest things.

Imagine asking your phone for a good time to exercise, and it checks your schedule and weather to pick one and remind you. That would be so useful! But making AI help that much requires processing power, which phones still lack.

Maybe the Pixel 8 won’t have full Bard abilities either since that needs cloud computing. But it’s time for Google to show how phones can use AI, even if features aren’t perfect yet. With improvements, maybe future Pixels could finally automate some of our daily tasks!
