Yesterday, X introduced Articles, a new long-form post format. Only Premium+ subscribers and verified organizations have access to this feature, which lets them publish posts with text formatting, other posts from X, and embedded videos and images. Articles allow users to share longer stories on X.
The Articles feature lets you write longer posts with up to 100,000 characters. This is much more than the regular 25,000-character limit for premium users. You can also add bullet points, hyperlink text, and embed videos and photos in your article.
X started testing articles by publishing one on their @Write account. The article talked about the new feature and how premium users and organizations can now publish long-form stories.
Last year, X increased the character limit for premium users to 25,000 characters for long tweets. But articles have an even higher limit of 100,000 characters. This means you can write very detailed stories, guides, reports or even mini books right on X!
Other social networks like Twitter also tried long-form posting features before. Twitter launched Notes in 2022 but stopped working on it after Elon Musk bought the company. He also shut down their newsletter service Revenue. But Musk said X is working on a better way for people to share complex articles with pictures and videos.
This new Articles feature proves Musk wants to attract writers and creators to X. Instead of just short tweets, premium users can now publish properly formatted long stories that are easy to read. This could bring many professional writers and reporters to the platform. Overall, Articles looks like a great new way for premium subscribers to share high-quality long-form content on X.
