As CES 2024 wraps up, Google shared lots of exciting updates. They’re making it simpler to share content between your devices starting next month. Quick Share will replace Nearby Share. This new name means the same great sharing experience but across more gadgets. Google worked with Samsung to make Quick Share available on all Android phones. They also partnered with big PC makers like LG. Soon Quick Share will come pre-installed on many Windows computers.
Stream Your Favorite Songs Seamlessly
Later this year, Pixel tablet owners can enjoy music even more. The new tablet will let Pixel phone users “Tap to Cast” with amazing ease. Just bring your Pixel 6, 7 or 8 near the tablet to instantly transfer whatever song is playing. YouTube Music and Spotify lovers can switch their tunes between the two devices with a simple tap. And it works both ways so you can move music off the tablet too.
Share Videos Directly to Your TV
Google aims to make casting videos as simple as possible. Starting now, iPhone and Android users can share TikTok clips straight to their big-screen TVs or devices with Google TV or Android TV. The best part is videos keep playing one after another automatically. While autoplay is on by default, you can turn it off if you want from your smartphone.
Sync Bluetooth Headphones Seamlessly
The new Chromecast with Google TV will finally get Fast Pair support next month. This allows Bluetooth headphones to connect with a single tap. No more messing with settings. Fast Pair will arrive on additional Google TV gadgets later in the year.
So whether you’re streaming movies and songs or sharing content between devices, Google is committed to simpler, more seamless experiences across Android in 2024. Exciting times ahead!
