CES 2024 is underway, and companies are showcasing their hardware and software innovations. In addition to expanding Fast Pair support to Chromecast with Google TV, Google has expanded casting abilities to a variety of devices and apps.
Google is giving Chromecast some new abilities. Fast Pair will now make it easier to connect Bluetooth devices to Chromecast with Google TV. Fast Pair lets you quickly hook up headphones or speakers with just one tap. Soon you’ll be able to use Fast Pair on other Google TV devices too.
Chromecast is also getting support for the popular app TikTok. You can now “cast” or send videos from TikTok on your phone to your TV using Chromecast. In the future, you’ll even be able to live stream directly from TikTok to your TV. Just look for the “cast” button in TikTok.
Pixel phones are getting a cool new feature for Pixel Tablet owners. Later this year, you’ll be able to easily “cast” music from Spotify or YouTube Music on your Pixel to a Pixel Tablet when they’re close by. No more tapping through menus – just tap your Pixel on the tablet. You can also cast from tablet to phone.
More devices will work with Chromecast too. LG’s new 2024 TVs and devices for hotels/hospitals will have Chromecast built-in. This means guests can stream to hotel TVs without logging in. New Google TVs from brands like Hisense and TCL in 2024 will also support Chromecast.
