Microsoft Planning Paid Version of Copilot AI

Microsoft’s Copilot AI service (formerly Bing Chat) has been available on mobile devices for some time. With the service, you can speak to a chatbot, generate AI images, and more. Recently, Edge browser updates for Android hint at a new feature called Copilot Pro.

Developers discovered code in the Microsoft Edge browser app for Android that mentions Copilot Pro. This suggests Microsoft may launch a paid subscription option for its popular Copilot AI assistant.

Currently, Copilot is free to use. It allows 30 chat replies per session and 300 conversations per day. The code found in Edge provides clues about what Copilot Pro could offer over the free version.

According to the code, Copilot Pro may give users access to the latest and best AI models. It could also provide priority responses, so you get answers more quickly from the assistant. Plus, the paid version is said to allow for high-quality image generation.

While the free Copilot already makes images and uses current AI, Microsoft may limit these features for non-Pro users going forward. This would encourage people to sign up for the subscription.

The code mentioned subscribing to Copilot Pro, similar to ChatGPT Plus. However, it didn’t say if the paid version would lift the free conversation limits.

We don’t know yet how much a Copilot Pro subscription might cost. But it appears Microsoft wants to monetize its popular AI tool. A paid option could give power users even better features for generating text, images and more with Copilot.

Microsoft hasn’t confirmed Copilot Pro officially. But this finding in Edge hints that a subscription version may be coming to enhance the Microsoft AI experience on mobile.
