HONOR announces Magic Vs2 foldable phone with upgraded specs and affordable price tag

HONOR launched its impressive foldable phone HONOR Magic V2 back in July. Unlike previous book-style foldables, this device is ultra-thin and lightweight. Now, HONOR has announced an upcoming new version that promises to be even thinner and lighter.

The new phone is called the HONOR Magic Vs2. It will be revealed on October 12th according to HONOR. A leaked image shows the Vs2 folded up next to the HONOR Watch 4 Pro smartwatch. Rumors suggest the Vs2 will have some nice upgrades over the V2 like a faster Snapdragon processor and a high quality folding display.

It’s said the Magic Vs2 could pack a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset for smooth performance. The folding screen is reportedly a 2K resolution display with a high refresh rate for fluid scrolling and viewing. Other expected specs include 16GB of RAM for multitasking and 66W fast charging to fuel up the battery quickly. On the cameras, leaks point to a 50 megapixel main camera and a 16 megapixel selfie camera.

Perhaps most interesting is that sources say the Vs2 may be even more affordable than the V2. The previous model started at around $1,233. HONOR says this new foldable aims for a similar thickness and price as regular smartphones. This could help foldables reach more customers.

Only time will tell just how thin, light and affordable the HONOR Magic Vs2 turns out to be. But it seems HONOR wants to take foldable design and pricing to new levels with this successor. The company will unveil the full details later this month, so stay tuned for the official specs and features.
