As the name implies, the HONOR V Purse is a foldable phone concept that can be carried like a purse. Due to its outward folding design and distinctive camera bar, the V Purse closely resembles HUAWEI’s Mate XS devices. However, HONOR has definitely added its own touch to the form factor.
The V Purse can be used with different straps that attach to the hinge, making it look and work just like a handbag. When folded up, the outer screens show fun purse patterns.
These patterns change on their own thanks to motion sensors. As you walk, you’ll see designs like chains or feathers move across the screen, mimicking a real purse swaying around. Some interactive patterns include app icons such as bracelet charms that can launch the camera or music.
HONOR also created Always-On Display images that transform based on how you hold the phone. Images will adjust to face up no matter which way you position the V Purse.
While a unique take on foldable, the V Purse will remain a concept and not be sold. However, it shows HONOR exploring creative uses of screen tech beyond just phones. The folding design and straps turn a device into a fashionable accessory you’d want to carry. Only time will tell if HONOR or other brands make purses that double as smartphones a real product down the road.
