The iPhone or Pixel will charge depending on which one has a lower battery. If the iPhone battery is lower, it will start charging when connected to the Pixel. If the Pixel battery is lower, it will receive the charge.

When the phones are plugged in, they will negotiate to decide who provides power. But you can change this on the Pixel. If you set the Pixel to “control charging”, it will charge from the iPhone even if the iPhone battery is lower.
Can I Transfer Files?
While it’s possible to move photos and videos between the phones, it does not always work reliably. The Pixel could sometimes see files on the iPhone but not always. And the iPhone will not let you access anything on the Pixel. So file transfer is not smooth enough to use regularly.
