Access All Your Loyalty Cards on Your Smartwatch

Loyalty cards are now accessible through the Google Wallet app on Wear OS. Initially, Google Wallet on Wear OS could only be used to tap-to-pay with credit or debit cards, while transit support was only available in San Francisco BART and Washington, D.C., SmarTrip.

Now, when you open the Google Wallet app on your smartwatch, you’ll see your loyalty cards along with your payment methods. The loyalty cards will look like small preview images of the cards.

You can change the order of the cards on your phone app and it will update on your watch. To see a card, just tap on its preview image. The card will fill the screen with its barcode or QR code in big bright letters so it’s easy to scan at stores. You can also swipe down to see more details like the card number.

There are quick options to open the card on your phone app if the store scanner can’t read your watch. You can also delete a card right from your watch. The app will note which cards were added to your Gmail account.

Some private cards, like health insurance or COVID cards, won’t show up on your watch for privacy. Expired store cards will also disappear from the watch once they expire in your phone app.

This new feature was rolled out with the latest Wear OS update. Now it’s convenient to have all your loyalty perks at your fingertips on your wrist. Leave your bulky wallet at home when running errands, and just use your smartwatch to save at all your favorite stores.
