WhatsApp is a very popular messaging app that many people use to talk with friends and do business. It works best if all your contacts use it too. Now Meta, the company that owns WhatsApp, is adding a special artificial intelligence (AI) helper named Meta AI.
Meta AI can find information from the internet quickly to answer questions. It uses Microsoft Bing to search. Meta AI can also make simple pictures when asked. This new AI will keep chat information fresh so conversations stay useful.
In addition to Meta AI, Meta is bringing other AI bots. These each have their own made-up personality, story, and area of knowledge. Meta partnered with famous people like MrBeast, Kendall Jenner, Snoop Dogg and others to create these character bots. The bots may know about things before 2023 but Meta is working to fix that.
For now, Meta AI will only be on WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Instagram in the United States. People can talk to Meta AI directly in chats and groups. To make a picture, say “@MetaAI /imagine” and describe what you want. Over time, Meta hopes to share Meta AI with more people worldwide. This new AI helper looks like a fun way to get answers and pictures while chatting with friends!
