In response to the launch of the iPhone 15, Tim Cook has embarked on an international tour. During his London visit, Apple CEO Tim Cook discussed Apple gaming and Vision Pro with The Independent. Even though Cook hasn’t yet worn the Apple headset in public, using it has become part of his evening routine.
Cook told The Independent that using Vision Pro has become part of his daily routine before bed. He said he really enjoyed watching the whole third season of the comedy show Ted Lasso using the headset.
Cook also talked about how people react differently to Vision Pro depending on whether they’ve tried it or just read about it. He said there is a really big difference. Cook believes experiencing spatial computing for yourself is much more amazing. But most people still have not tried Vision Pro since it’s expensive.
Cook called using Vision Pro one of those “aha” moments that only happen a few times in life. An “aha” moment means suddenly understanding something in an exciting new way. But without trying it, many people may not understand how great Vision Pro can be.
When asked about gaming, Cook had strong words. He said gaming is very important to Apple and not just a side project. Apple is putting all of its effort into gaming. This shows that Apple views gaming as a core part of its business, not just a hobby.
Cook seems to truly love using Vision Pro in his free time. But its high price means many people may never get to experience the “aha” moment Cook described. Only time will tell if Apple can make spatial computing affordable and mainstream.
