Cool New iPhone 15 Features That Android Needs

Cool New iPhone 15 Features That Android Needs

The iPhone 15 phones have been released by Apple, bringing some neat new abilities. While Android users know some features already, companies that make Android phones like Samsung and Google may copy good ideas from Apple too. Here are 5 things from the iPhone 15 that would be great on Android phones:

Better Camera Photos

The iPhone 15 can take photos that are 24 megapixels instead of 12. It does this by combining information from a 48 megapixel shot with a lower 12 megapixel one. Pictures at 24 MP are a nice middle ground between 12 and 48 MP photos. Samsung phones already do something similar but it’s for low light photos, not regular shots. 24 MP pics on Android would provide more details without using too much storage space.

Help on the Road

With the iPhone 15 you can get roadside assistance if your car breaks down somewhere remote. You pick what the problem is, like a dead battery or flat tire, and the phone guides you to point it at a satellite to send a message for help. This would be very useful when driving through areas without cell service. It would be great to see this option on Android phones too.

Find Friends Easily

The iPhone 15 lets you pinpoint exactly where your friends are in real life using special Ultra Wideband technology. This could help locate someone in a crowded market or concert hall. Most Android phones don’t have UWB yet, but including this feature would still be useful. As the tech spreads to more affordable phones, finding friends will get even better on Android.

Smart Home Superpowers

The high-end iPhone 15 models support Thread, the network that many new smart home devices will use. While there aren’t direct benefits now, this prepares the iPhone 15 for future connected devices in the home. It would be wise for Android phones to get Thread support too for seamless smart home control down the line.

Much Better Zoom Photos

Apple finally added a periscope-style zoom camera, but it uses a different “tetraprism” design instead of sideways like on Android phones. This may let the iPhone 15 take bigger zoom camera sensor for better low-light shots. Android makers led the way with folded zoom lenses before, so adopting Apple’s new approach could further improve zoom camera quality.
