Samsung Finally Reveals What Their Galaxy Ring Will Look Like

For months now, Samsung has been rumored to be developing the Galaxy Ring, a smart ring that’s linked to a smartphone. In announcing the device, Samsung showed off the design for the first time.

At their Galaxy Unpacked event, Samsung spent time talking about their Samsung Health app and services. Just when it seemed like the event was ending, Samsung surprised everyone by announcing the Galaxy Ring.

All Samsung did was show off what the ring would look like. It has a shiny chrome-like outside and sensors on the inside as expected. But that was about it for details. Samsung didn’t say what the ring can do, how much it will cost, or when users can get it.

Earlier, people took apart the Galaxy Wearable app code and found hints about the ring. It will measure health stats and sleep while connecting through Bluetooth. The ring may also use hand gestures to control virtual reality and augmented reality experiences on a future Samsung VR headset.

So in summary, Samsung is definitely working on a Galaxy Ring smart ring linked to their phones. This event was the first time seeing its exterior design though. Samsung still has more to share about features, price, and release dates in the future. The ring looks to take on Apple’s upcoming smart rings soon.
