How Microsoft is Supercharging Windows 11’s Helpful Copilot

You may not have a Copilot key on your PC’s keyboard yet, but Windows 11 users will soon be able to use Copilot for more everyday tasks. As of today, Microsoft is adding skills that will enable Copilot to change more Windows 11 settings for you and add plugins for services such as OpenTable, Shopify, and Kayak. Additionally, Microsoft has improved widgets (which nobody pays attention to but Microsoft still hasn’t given up on yet), new AI editing integrations into default apps like Clipchamp and Photos, and the Windows snap functionality that lets you organize your various app windows more effectively.

By the end of March, Microsoft will roll out new skills for Copilot that let you do things like turn battery saver mode on/off, check device info, start live captions or text-to-speech reading, see your IP address, and empty the trash. This will make Copilot much more helpful for common computer tasks.

Excitingly, the new skills hint that Copilot may someday automate complex tasks for you too. It could open and control apps without needing your help. Microsoft also wants Copilot to replace some apps over time.

New plugins for OpenTable, Kayak, and Shopify launching soon will integrate Copilot with popular services. This is just the beginning – expect many more plugins.

Microsoft also improved Photos and Clipchamp apps with AI features. Photos can now remove objects from pictures similar to Google Photos. Clipchamp removes unwanted silence from videos automatically too.

All in all, these Copilot upgrades will make Windows 11 even smarter and more helpful! The virtual assistant is becoming a powerful part of the Microsoft experience.
