Google’s New Bard Promises Smarter Answers

In early December, Google announced that Gemini Ultra will be available in “Bard Advanced” in early 2024. Google will position Bard Advanced as providing “complex, better responses.”

Google revealed plans to upgrade its AI assistant Bard. The new version called “Bard Advanced” will use Gemini Ultra for more complex responses. When it launches, Google will say Bard Advanced provides “better, complex responses.”

Currently, Bard uses Gemini Pro. Gemini Ultra aims to surpass other AI like GPT-4. Google said Bard Advanced with Ultra would undergo safety testing before release later this year.

A glitch showed the next Bard website will let you choose the standard “Bard” or advanced modes. The Google app also hints at “Advanced mode” using Google’s best AI models.

Google warned the mobile experience may not have all advanced features at first. Testers saw some redesigns to the Bard website too.

All this suggests Bard Advanced is nearly ready. With improved artificial intelligence, it could understand concepts that stump regular Bard. Only time will tell if Google’s new AI assistant delivers as promised. But Bard Advanced raises expectations for truly intelligent conversations.
