To use Bard, you must be 18 years old or older. Chats with Bard in Messages won’t be private like messages with your contacts. Google says it keeps chat histories for 18 months. They use the data to improve Bard, but nothing is tied to your account after 3 years. Your chats are only looked at by Google, not by other users. You can always delete your chat history with Bard if you want.
Right now, this feature only exists in test versions of Messages. A user found hints of it by modifying their Messages app. Google wants Bard to be helpful, not harmful.
