Get Camera Ready For Your Meetings With Google’s New Beauty Filters

Google Meet has finally added a feature that users have requested: the ability to apply ‘beauty’ effects to video calls. Portrait touch-up is rolling out to Google Meet on mobile devices for early adopters, with an extended rollout to remaining accounts scheduled to begin on October 28th. The portrait touch-up feature will also be available on Google Meet online at the end of the year.

The portrait touch-up feature has two modes – ‘Subtle’ and ‘Smoothing’. Both lightly touch up your complexion, under-eyes and teeth to help you look your best on camera. You can find the feature in your Google Meet settings and enable it before calls start.

Surprisingly, it’s taken Google a while to offer filters compared to rivals like Teams and Zoom. But Meet users who rely on Google for work will be happy to finally look fresher without makeup. The filters are perfect for mornings you wake up tired or to hide a zit breakout.

Just remember the beauty filters are quite light, so don’t expect drastic changes. They’re meant to naturally enhance your appearance, not transform it. With Google Meet’s new selfie enhancing tools, you’ll feel more confident facing clients and coworkers on video.
