Fitbit App Getting New Generative AI Features

Fitbit App Getting New Generative AI Features

At yesterday’s Pixel hardware event, Google unveiled the Pixel 8 series and the Pixel Watch 2. As part of the announcements, Google revealed that the Fitbit app will be enhanced with generative AI.

Google launched a redesigned Fitbit app last month. According to the company, the app now provides a holistic view of your health and wellness. A few AI-powered features will soon be available in the Fitbit app thanks to the Made by Google team.

One cool new feature will allow you to find connections between your fitness data. For example, if today’s run felt harder than usual, Fitbit can compare it to your past runs. Google showed how Fitbit provided an answer with a chart. Additionally, the AI noticed your sleep scores were lower that week and showed a chart.

The Fitbit app will also use AI to give more personalized workouts. It will recommend new exercises based on your progress so far. This helps ensure you keep improving steadily.

You won’t see these new features until early next year. At first, only people testing Fitbit labs will get them. Pixel owners will be the first in line to try out the new AI powers in the Fitbit app. Fitbit labs testers help Fitbit improve their apps, so these features may change before rolling out to everyone.

Overall, the added generative AI should make the Fitbit app even better at understanding your health and fitness data. The new insights and personalized workouts seem helpful too. Stay tuned to see these new capabilities in action soon!
