Facebook Messenger Makes Sharing High Quality Photos Even Easier

In 2017, Facebook let people send 4K photos through Messenger. Now Messenger has updated how these big photos look. Meta has added the ability to share HD photos.

Basically, when Facebook says “HD photos”, they mean the really big photos that are called 4K. Before, these large 4K photos would look worse when sending because of internet connections. Now they won’t shrink down as much, so they will look better!

Messenger is adding a new “HD button”. If you tap it, your 4K photos will send at full quality. If you don’t tap it, photos will send at a still large quality called 2K.

You can also now send files up to 100MB through Messenger. Before it was only 25MB. This makes sharing videos much easier since they won’t have to be cut into pieces. For example, a 1 minute iPhone video is about 170MB.

Facebook is adding photo albums you can share with groups too. You can add multiple photos to an album from your chat. Anyone in the group can then add, remove or download the photos. This helps keep photos organized when chatting with groups of friends.

For meeting people out in public, Facebook rolled out QR codes and links. Now you don’t need to type in someone’s phone number if you want to connect on Messenger. You can just scan their code instead.

In summary, Facebook Messenger has updated how high quality photos look and made sharing them more convenient with options like albums and larger file sizes. These changes should make sending memories with friends an even better experience.
